Roman Polanski Satisfied With Preparations
Roman Polanski's world-famous musical "Dance of the Vampires" opens in Budapest. After Vienna, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Tokio and Berlin, the musical stage adaptation based on the Academy Award winner director's "The Fearless Vampire Killers" is about to make its long-waited debut in the capital of Hungary in June 2007.
The team of PS Produkció led by producer Edit Simon has been working for two years on producing a musical performance of excellent quality, together with an acknowledged creative team of many nations and Hungarian performers chosen by them from 430 applicants. The creative team includes Cornelius Balthus, associate director of each premiere; Dennis Callahan, coreographer of New York Radio City Hall; Kentaur, set and costume designer; Gabor Rivo, conductor of the musical in Vienna and musical director of "Dance of the Vampires" in Budapest. The libretto and lyrics written by Michael Kunze is adapted to Hungarian by Tibor Miklós.
Roman Polanski took a closer look at the production scene by scene, talked it over and told his suggestions during the presentation of plans for the set design. He considers Kentaur's work an exciting and special one full of sparkling ideas and different from all the other sets of the musical. The executive director approved the cast as well, the actors and actresses are soon to be signed.
